"Strange Fits Of Passion":
My first experiments in multitrack recording via a Tascam MF-P01 Portastudio four-track machine. Recorded between 2004 and 2006. Didn't have a drum machine, used a cheap Yamaha Portasound keyboard for the drums and other keyboard/synth parts. Guitars were an Epiphone Les Paul Custom and Squier Strat. Mostly recorded with a little battery powered Marshall amp and mostly microphones from the 70's meant for voice memos. Effects at my disposal at the time (as far as I can remember) were Boss DS-1, Cry Baby Wah, DOD Flanger, Boss DD-3 digital delay, Boss tremolo, and possibly a Small Clone chorus. An Ibanez bass borrowed from my younger brother was also used.
Sample sources included an Old Time Radio show, old children's tapes, and cassette recordings my dad made back in Medical school of his class lectures in the mid 80s. The voice on "Intro (Space Case)" is my dad from one of those tapes. The vocals on "Jeffrey Dahmer Will Have His Revenge On Milwaukee" were recorded in my teen bedroom when I was the only person home so that I could scream the lyrics at the top of my lungs without bothering anybody else.
Originally released in a very limited hand made run on cassette in 2006 and left for free outside of the WFTU radio station at Five Towns College on Long Island. This is the first time these tracks were properly digitized and remastered directly from the original master cassette.
